The City of Southampton Orchestra are back at Central Hall for their annual Family Concert! They will be playing a selection of classical dance music from around the world, featuring members of the New Forest School of Dance and Alessandro Mackinnon-Botti—chorister turned solo beatboxer!
There are 2 performances, at 11am and the other 2pm. The event is primarily aimed at young children to get them into classical music, but younger and older children of all ages are more than welcome to come too.
Featuring:
‘Rodeo from Hoedown’ by Aaron Copland
‘Hungarian Dance No. 5’ by Johannes Brahms
‘Pas de deux’ by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
‘Voice Leading’ by Alessandro MacKinnon-Botti (solo beatboxer!)
‘How To Train Your Dragon’ by John Powell
‘Dance from Othello’ by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor
‘Danse Macabre’ by Camille Saint-Saens
Children are encouraged to submit drawings based on dancing, dragons or cowboys. These will be shown on a big screen during our performances. You can submit these via http://www.csorchestra.org
